Become a Church Planter: Training

The Partner Program offers training for New York City Planters.

Partner Church Planter training consists of three elements: relationships, content, and ministry. No charge for the training.

Relationships: Partner church planters who enter the RCPC program will be enriched through the impact of teachers who have planted churches, camaraderie with fellow church planters, and access to peers from different denominational backgrounds.

Content: Content is taken from the Redeemer Church Planter Manual over a 9-month period (that begin every August and January). Learners do assignments related to their specific church plants. Classes are offered in English and Spanish.

Topics addressed:

  • Call and competencies of the church planter
  • Vision, values and mission of the church
  • Research: demographics and ethnographics
  • Contextualized Philosophy of Ministry
  • Action Plan
  • Leadership Structures
  • Linking the Gospel to your community
  • Renewal Dynamics for church planting and growth
  • Small groups
  • Preaching in the context of church planting

Ministry: Ministry in actual involvement in starting a church in one of New York's neighborhoods. The anticipated outcome is to develop leaders who are crafted, competent and confident. Psalm 78:72 provides the image for the quality we seek: "David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them."
